Thank You, Firefighters

By: Scott Nania, StormCon Coordinator Comments
Many of you may not be aware that the StormCon and Stormwater offices are located in Santa Barbara, California. In Santa Barbara County, the Tea Fire in Montecito (which is currently 75% contained) has burned 1,940 acres and destroyed 210 residences and damaged nine others. There were 22 injuries from smoke inhalation and three burn injuries. I am glad to say we are fine and very grateful to all involved in fighting the fire.

It has been a very tough few days for the people in the area. Unfortunately there is more devastation happening 90 miles south of Santa Barbara in the Sylmar area of Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley and with the Triangle Complex fire threatening San Bernardino County. We can only hope that you are safe. Many of you may have family, friends, or businesses affected by the fires and our prayers go out to you.

To all the fire crews and everyone involved in the fires, thank you, for your extraordinary effort!
