Seeking Moderators for StormCon

By: Kaspersen, Janice: Stormwater Editor Comments

For those of you who will be attending the StormCon conference in Anaheim on August 21 – 25, here’s another reminder that we are still looking for moderators for a number of the sessions.

This year’s conference has seven tracks: BMP Case Studies, Green Infrastructure, Stormwater Program Management, Water-Quality Monitoring, Advanced Research Topics, Erosion and Sediment Control, and Industrial Stormwater Management. Sessions in each of these tracks run concurrently on Tuesday through Thursday, August 23 – 25. Sessions are either an hour long, containing two 30-minute presentations, or 90 minutes long, containing three presentations.

As a session moderator, your job would be to welcome the attendees, introduce yourself and the speakers for each of the presentations in your session, and help the speakers keep track of the time. It’s a chance to participate in the program and hear the questions and feedback from audience members, and people who’ve moderated in the past—some of you help us out every year!—have said it’s a good way to get involved in the program and hear the questions and feedback from attendees.

We still have openings for moderators in just about every time slot, so if you’ll be at the conference and would like to participate, please let us know! You can email me at janice@forester.net for more information or to request a specific session.

You can see a complete list of sessions with brief descriptions of each presentation here, and more information on the entire conference at www.StormCon.com.
