Become Certified at StormCon

By: Scott Nania, StormCon Coordinator Comments
StormCon participants will find an array of training, learning, and networking opportunities in all stormwater areas. Designed with engineers, consultants, regulatory personnel, municipal employees, watershed/stormwater program managers, and contractors in mind, StormCon features a full conference program. The event’s agenda includes 120 technical sessions covering topics such as BMPs, water-harvesting techniques, stormwater treatment and management, low-impact development, watershed management, and water-quality monitoring. It includes multiple networking opportunities, two luncheons, and, in the evening of Tuesday, August 18, an opening gala reception.

In addition, an array of pre-conference certification courses will be available to attendees. The pre-conference certification courses will include: Certified Professional in Storm Water Quality (CPSWQ), Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), and Certified Inspector in Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC) review courses. These certification courses, along with the accompanying examination, will be offered to inspectors who have qualifications in erosion and sediment control principles or have demonstrated proficiency in observing, inspecting, and reporting on implementation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs). All certification courses are to be held on Sunday, August 16, with the exams taking place Monday, August 17, 2009. See additional information and details on examination requirements under each certification at “How to Apply for the Exam.” You may register to attend the review session only, without having to take the exam.
